About Darren F Gideon
Darren F. Gideon is a self-taught artist who was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1968 now living in Boca Raton, South Florida. He has been a professional graphic / print / web/ UX designer for over 20 years. In this capacity, he learned about color and composition and continually refined his understanding of them on a daily basis while working on projects for his corporate clients. In 2014 he expanded from working solely in digital mediums to also creating more traditional art with acrylics, acrylic inks, india ink markers, and spray paint. His extensive travels, with a particular interest in visiting the ruins of the ancient world, and interest in street art have both been major influences on his own art. In his works he attempts to combine the grittiness of those experiences with the brighter colors of street art to a more contemporary / pop art subject matter.
